Stella C. Jackson
Our beloved Stella C. Jackson was called to her
heavenly home on February 20, 2008 while in Las
Cruces, NM. Stella was 68 years old and was born
on June 3, 1939 in Embudo, New Mexico. She was a
graduate of New Mexico Highlands University, where
she received a teaching degree. Stella taught at
Taos High School and Questa High School earning
the love and respect of all her students and
colleagues before retiring in 1984.
Stella was preceded in death by her mother Celia,
her father Juan Benito, and her brother, Leroy Rael.
Surviving members of Stella’s family include her
devoted husband Jack, to whom she was married to
for 48 years, and her two sons, John (Sandra) and
Blaine (Debra). She had 6 grandchildren: Taylor,
Brian, Erin, Jayce, Brianna, and Courtney. Her
surviving brother and sisters include: Tomas
(Waltraud) Rael; Louisa (Bill) Doran; Louella (Leroy)
Gomez; Bernadette (Gilbert) Apodaca; and Merlyn
(Mark) Sideris. She is also, survived by numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Rosary was held in her honor at 5:30 PM on
Friday, February 22, 2008 at St. Anthony’s Catholic
Church in Questa. The funeral mass was held at 10:
00 AM on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at St.
Anthony’s with interment at San Pedro Cemetery in
Questa.
The family would like to thank friends and relatives
for their generosity, kind thoughts and prayers. Her
strong faith in God, her devotion to her family and
her generous spirit inspired all who knew and loved
her. She will be greatly missed.

To the Jackson Family,
We would like to give you our deepest
condolences for the passing of your wife
and mother. She was a wonderful lady and a
great teacher. We had lunch with her and
enjoyed visiting with her. She is and was a
tremendous lady. We will keep her and your
family in our prayers.
