Martinez Maria ”Jessie Salazar”,86
of Cerro passed away on May 20 at her home. She
was born on June 5, 1921 to Repito and Espulita
Espinoza .
She enjoyed playing bingo, painting by number, and
dancing. She was a member of the Sagrado Corazon
and a Carmelita in the Catholic Church. She was also
a member of the VFW Auxilary.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother
Elisio Espinoza, brother Donacino Espinoza, and
husband Ruben Salazar
Jessie is survived by five sons; Carl (RoseMary)
Salazar -Broomfield CO, Jimmy (Vicky) Salazar- Silver
City NM, Melvin Salazar- Cerro NM, Willie Salazar-
Cerro NM, Frank (Inga) Salazar - Santa Fe, Seven
Daughters; Evelyn (Daniel) Quintana- Questa NM,
Elva (Pat) Sanchez - Cerro NM, Florence (Howard)
Atchley - Pueblo CO, Annabelle (Dennis) Torres -
Cerro NM, Gloria Chandler- Albuquerque, NM, Edna
(Kelly) Mascarenas - Cerro, NM, Wilma Martinez -
Questa NM, one sister Flora Sanchez- Cerro NM, 32
grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-
great grandchildren.
A Rosary was held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church
in Cerro 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2008.
The Funeral was held at Our Lady of Guadalupe
Church in Cerro with burial following at the Cerro
Cemetery on Friday May 23, 2008
