SAN LUIS – JUANITA GARDUNIO, 64 of Chama
passed away at Juniper Village in Monte Vista om
May 18, 2008. She was born to Manuel and
Celestina Maestas on November 11, 1943 in
Chama, Colorado.
She enjoyed going to the Casa De Amistad,
dancing, and playing bingo.
Her parents precede her in death.
Juanita is survived by one daughter Leslie
Hernandez of Chama, one son Jesse (Sara)
Maestas of Blanca, CO four grandchildren, Sierra
Maestas, Jesse Maestas Jr.,Dante Strotmeister,
April Hernandez one sister Delores Lucero of
Cheyenne, Wyoming, Aunt Libby Rivera of Chama.
Viewing and Visitation was held from 1-5 PM on
Tuesday, May 20, 2008 and from
1-7 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Weylen’s
Funeral Home Chapel.
A Rosary was held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 20,
2008 at Immaculate Conception Church in Chama
and another rosary at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May
21, 2008 at Weylen’s Funeral Home Chapel.
The Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 AM on
Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Immaculate Conception
Church in Chama with interment to follow at Chama
Cemetery in Chama.
Arrangements were made with Weylen’s Funeral
