JAMES D. MASCARENAS, 75

Chama, CO- James D. Mascarenas, 75 passed away at
State Veterans Center at Homelake on January 26, 2009.  
He was born to Fred and Francisquita Mascarenas on
October  5, 1933 in Chama, CO.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus and the DAV.  
He was a teacher and youth counselor for several years.  
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, hanging out with his
friends and especially playing the lottery.

He is survived by his wife Henrietta of Chama, two
daughters; Marian (Carl) Jaquez of Chama Canon, CO,  
Henrietta (Paul) Balderamos of Santa Fe, NM, two sons;
James Mascarenas (Yvette DeHerrera) of Chama, CO,
Chris Mascarenas of Chama, CO, ten grandchildren and
four great grandchildren, three brothers; Gasper
Mascarenas, Fred (Anna) Mascarenas both of Laramie,
Wyoming, Steve (Viola) Mascarenas of Pueblo, CO, one
sister; Lilia (Gabino) Sanchez of Laramie, Wyoming,
brother in law David Hinson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother
Gilbert Mascarenas, four sisters Clorinda DeHerrera,
Josephine Hinson, Cora Brown and infant Marianita
Mascarenas.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, January 30,
3008 from 1-5 PM at Weylen’s Funeral Home Chapel.

A Rosary will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2008 at 7:
00 PM at Weylen’s Funeral Home Chapel and on Friday,
January 30, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Sangre De Cristo Parish
in San Luis.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 31,
2008 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in
Chama with burial to follow at Chama Cemetery.
