Dorice M. Vigil, 50
of Chama, CO passed away on June 16, 2008 at
Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. She was
born to Odosio and Carmel Rael on March 6,
1958.
Dorice loved listening to music, cooking, baking,
planting flowers and especially Loved being with
family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her Father and a
sister Jane Rael.
She is survived by her husband Ervin Vigil, two
daughters; Maria Vigil (Michael Sisneros Jr.) of
Alamosa, Lea Vigil (Anthony Munoz) of San Luis,
one grandchild Abby Munoz, three sisters; Louise
Sanchez of Golden, CO, Josephine Rael of El
Rito, CO, Leola Rael of Pueblo, five brothers;
Mike (Virginia) Rael of Denver, Eril Rael of San
Acacio, CO, Erving (Juanita) Rael of El Rito, CO,
Eli (Kimba) Rael of El Rito, CO, Norbert Rael of
El Rito, CO, Numerous nephews, nieces and
cousins.
A viewing and visitation will be from 1-7 PM on
Thursday, June 19, 2008 and from 1-5 PM on
Friday, June 20, 2008 at Weylen’s Funeral Home
Chapel.
A Rosary will be on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 7:
00 PM at Weylen’s Funeral Home Chapel and on
Friday, June 20, 2008 at 7:00 PM at San
Francisco Church in El Rito.
The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, June 21,
2008 at 10:00 AM at Sangre De Cristo Parish in
San Luis with interment to follow at Chama
Cemetery.

To my Tia Carmen, and all my Primos and Primas,
I’m so deeply sorry for your loss; Doris was such a wonderful
person. I remember spending a summer with her and all the
Rael family working at the Fort Garland farms. I have my
initials tattooed on my left hand that both Doris and Josephine
gave me in our teenage years. Even though it took us a long
time to see each other, every time I see my initials I think of
her, Josephine and the family. I know she will be truly missed
by all who knew and loved her. God bless all of you and grant
you peace and comfort.

Our hearts go out to each and everyone of you that lost such
a beautiful woman. Doris as I remember this spelling way back
when, you are so truely loved and will be so much missed. As
an ex sister-in-law you were always there for me and the
memories I have of you are and have always been in my heart.
I have beautiful pictures of you and those are pictures I will
never ever let go. My kids and grandkids are your nieces and
newphews so in our hearts we love you now, we love you then
and we will love you forever. You are in a place that will keep
you safe and now you can watch over your 2 beautiful
daughters as well as your spouse, what a husband and a
great friend he was to you. May God Bless all of you. Our
hearts are with your family and our prayers never stop. R.I.P.
