Della P. Gomez, 67
of Cerro, NM passed away at the Taos Living Center in
Taos on August 18, 2009. Della was born on March 17,
1942 to Henry and Felomena Vigil in Cerro, NM. She
was a member of the Carmelitas and Sacred Heart.
She enjoyed canning, planting, embroidering, music,
reading, taking care of her children, grandchildren and
great grandchildren and especially spending time with
her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one son
Sammy Gomez Jr., five brothers; Gasper Vigil, Ruben
Vigil, Redolio Perea, Edumeio Perea, Jose Vidal Perea,
three sisters; Bertha Sisneros, Elvira Cardenas,
Virginia Salazar.
Della is survived by her husband Sam Gomez. They
would of celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on
January 14, 2010. Two sons; Robert (Marcie) Gomez
of Cerro, Norbert Gomez of Cerro, one daughter
Bernice (Ronnie) Cardenas of Cerro, two brothers;
Vincent Vigil of Denver, CO, Henry Vigil Jr. of Cerro, six
sisters; Lizzie Vigil of Cerro, Nora Gonzales of Laramie,
Wyoming, Angela Vigil of Cerro, Laura (Eliseo) Rael of
Questa, Betty Vigil of Cerro, Theresa (Steve) Segura of
Questa, six grandchildren; Samantha (Gary) Martinez
of Ranchos De Taos, Angel (Jason) Martinez of Los
Alamos, Kristen Cardenas (Brian Torres) of Denver,
CO, Robert Gomez Jr., Briana Gomez and Sabrina
Gomez all of Cerro, four great grandchildren; Jacob,
Jason, Jerome, Joaquin Martinez. Two brother-in
laws; Roy Gomez of Cerro, Armando Cardenas of
California, one sister-in-law Enedina Perea of Colorado
Springs, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be held on Friday, August 21, 2009 at
Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Cerro at 7:00 PM.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 22,
2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Cerro at 10:
00 AM with interment to follow at Cerro Cemetery in
Cerro.
