Eileen A. Chavez, 59

of Calhan, Colorado formally of Del Norte, passed away on May 9, 2011 in her home under hospice
care.  She was born on August 15, 1951 to Ernest Valdez and Angelina David and then went on to
marry Ralph Tafoya.
She loved her bingo, but her life revolved around her precious Maltese dog of 10 years “Baby”.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, one sister Clara Ulabarri and one brother Richard
David.
Eileen is survived by her parents; Ernest (Maryalice) and Angelina David, Three daughters; Michelle
Chavez of Colorado Springs, Valorie Tafoya of Del Norte, Felicia Tafoya of Del Norte, one adopted
daughter; Machaela Klepterich of Colorado Springs, four sisters; JoAnne (Harold/Edmund) Lobato of
Colorado Springs, Pauline (Adan) Galvez of Calhan, Theresa (Nathan) Ramirez of Denver, Patricia
Valdez Davies of Denver,  nine brothers; Clarence (Helen) Valdez of Longmont, Dale (Rebecca)
Cordova of Tucumcari, New Mexico, Robert Valdez of Denver, Isaac (Michelle) Valdez of Thorton,
Mathew Valdez of Thorton, Jerry (Sandy) David of Alamosa, John (Darla) David of Alamosa, Rodney
David of Alamosa, Michael (Sadie) David of Alamosa.
Rosary will be held on Friday May 13, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Holy Name of Mary Church in Del Norte.
Funeral Mass will be on Saturday May 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM  at Holy Name of Mary Church in Del
Norte.
Arrangements were made with Weylen’s Funeral Home in San Pablo.
