ANTONIO FLORES, 90, Questa-
of Nicaragua, Central America, passed away in Taos on October
15, 2007. He was born on May 10, 1917 to Asenciòn Flores and
Juana Pabla Leiva in “San Francisco del Carnisero” a town close
to Managua, Nicaragua C.A. He married Aida Herrera (from
Questa) in San Francisco, California.
Tony was a journeyman carpenter who, in the 1950's,
established, with his brother Octavio, a construction company in
the San Francisco Bay Area called California Modern Builders
Inc. He later moved to Questa where he became a partner in
H&G Construction and eventually retired from his lifelong
housing construction career.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers: Sisto,
Octavio, Humberto and twin boys who died at birth, Four sisters:
Susanna, Natividad and twin girls who also died at birth.
He is survived by his wife, Aida Flores, One brother: Rafael
Flores of San Francisco, CA, four sisters: Hilda Flores of Costa
Rica, Placida Flores of Nicaragua, Eloisa Vásquez and Margarita
Villavicencio of San Francisco, CA; Four sons: Rolando (Marta)
Flores of San Francisco, CA, Richard (Florence) Flores of
Bernalillo, NM, Antonio Flores, Jr. of Questa, NM, Fabián (Mary)
Flores of Questa, NM. Two daughters: Diana Flores LaCome of
San Francisco, CA, Nadine (Ronnie) Flores Honea of Questa,
NM; Six Grandchildren: Devonne LaCome (Eddy) Ayala of San
Francisco, CA, Rolando Flores Jr. Of San Francisco, CA,
Jerome Flores and Craig Flores of Bernalillo, NM, Saige Flores
and Ivy Flores of Questa, NM, Four great grandchildren: Roland
Flores III of San Francisco, CA, Danielle Flores of San
Francisco, CA, Harley Flores of Bernalillo, NM and Gabriella
Flores of Bernalillo, NM.
The Funeral Service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October
20, 2007 at Weylen's Funeral Home Chapel in Questa, New
Mexico. Internment will follow in the near future.
